This section contains general information, by-laws and the necessary forms required by prospective candidates for the 2010 Municipal and School Board Trustee Election.
It is the Candidate’s responsibility to ensure that he or she fulfills all the requirements of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996. Please note that there were considerable amendments made to the Act as a result of Bill 212.
Nominations may be filed at the Clerk's Department during regular office hours - Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. commencing January 4th, 2010. The last day for filing is Nomination Day, September 10th, 2010. On Nomination Day, the hours for filing Nominations are 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
As candidates file their nomination papers, their name and the office for which they are running will be posted on this web site. Information pertaining to their residential address, telephone number and/or email address will only be posted for those candidates who provide the Town with permission to do so.
A complete listing of the names of all candidates for the 2010 Municipal and School Board Trustee Election will be made available on this web site on or before September 16th, 2010.
Faxed, e-mailed or photocopied financial statements cannot be accepted, as an original signature is required on all election documents filed with the Clerk.
