Town Council approved the design and officially adopted the Town's Coat-of-Arms
on November 27, 1973. The design was developed by International Coats of
Arms, Heraldic House Limited and includes images to represent the 3 former
municipalities of Whitchurch Township, Markham Township and the Village
of Stouffville:
• a white church for Whitchurch
• the crosses of St. George and St. Andrew to symbolize
the earliest founders of Markham
• the star and chalice from the family crest of Stouffville's
founding Stouffer family
• the Dove of Peace represents the Quaker settlers of
Whitchurch Township |

The flag for the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville incorporates the Town Crest on a central, yellow background framed by a band
of royal blue on either side. It was adopted by Council on June 10, 1980.
