The Department of Leisure and Community Services is responsible for the operation of municipal parks, outdoor sports and recreation facilities, and all municipal buildings.

The Department is responsible for providing public recreation and culture programming through direct and indirect delivery. It also manages the recently expanded Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum and community centre, a two-acre site incorporating five historic structures located in the historic hamlet of Vandorf.

Various types of support is provided to many volunteer based community groups, clubs, associations and event organizations that provide culture and recreation programs and a variety of community events.
