Planning & Development Services

Talk through your proposal with Planning Staff to determine if your proposed site is zoned for the business you want to operate. Staff will identify approvals (eg. Site plan, Building Permit) that may be necessary. Getting the right information from the beginning by speaking to Development Services will avoid confusion or any ‘surprises’ along the way.

Licensing and Fees

Some types of business require a business license to operate within the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville. Currently, those businesses are:

• Eating Establishment
• Horse Riding Establishment
• Ice Cream Truck/Vendor
• Limousine
• Mobile Vendor (hot dog cart, flower seller)
• Place of Amusement
• Public Garage
• Refreshment Vehicle (catering truck)
• Second Hand Goods (incl. auctioneer and salvage yard)
• Taxi
• Trailer Camp
