2010 Municipal & School Board Election Information

“As of February 1, 2010”
Due to amendments to the Municipal Election Act, 1996 with respect to election dates, the by-law pertaining to Advance Vote dates will need to be amended. A new By-law will be presented to Council early in 2010 and the dates will be two weeks earlier than noted below.

The 2010 Municipal and School Board Election will take place on MONDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2010.

At the Council meeting of June 23rd, 2009, Council adopted By-law 2009-095-RE being a By-law to establish wards in the Town of Whitchurch which will come into effect for the 2010 municipal election. For convenience, below is a map illustrating the new Ward Boundaries.

	Free Election Seminar Wednesday, April 14th, 2010 - 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Regional Municipality of York, Administrative Centre 17250 Yonge Street, Newmarket (west side, between Eagle Street and Davis Drive) Understanding the Rules on Campaign Contributions/Expenses and Related Financial Statements This seminar will be conducted by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing and is available for any candidates in York Region wishing to run for any office in the up-coming Municipal Elections. There have been changes to the Municipal Elections Act, 1996. As a result, all registered and potential candidates for the 2010 Municipal Elections are encouraged to attend. Please note that the presentation will be conducted in English only.
