Election Day

The 2010 Municipal and School Board Election will take place on Monday, October 25, 2010. 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

2010 MUNICIPAL ELECTION
CANDIDATE NOMINATION

This notice is for anyone proposing to be a candidate in the municipal election on October 25th, 2010.

Candidates may file a nomination form during regular business hours commencing January 4th, 2010 with the last time for filing being 2:00 p.m. on September 10th, 2010.  A prescribed fee, which may be refundable, in the amount of $200.00 for Mayoral candidates and $100.00 for all other candidates payable by cash, certified cheque or money order, must accompany the nomination form.

In addition, Candidates will be required to provide a $230 deposit pursuant to the Town’s sign by-law.

Candidates must not spend or raise funds for their election campaign until their nomination form is filed.

At the Council meeting of June 23rd, 2009, Council adopted By-law 2009-095-RE being a By-law to establish wards in the Town of Whitchurch which will come into effect for the 2010 municipal election.  For convenience, below is a map illustrating the new Ward Boundaries.

Election Workers

The Town is advertising for election workers.  Decisions will be made about hiring late August or early September and training will take place in late September or early October. Application forms are available on the Municipal Election page of the Town’s website, email election@townofws.ca or you can call the Clerk’s Department at (905) 640-1910 or (905) 895-5299 ext. 123 and an application form will be sent to you.
