A modern hospital is located ten minutes south from the Community of Stouffville just off the Ninth Line. Opened in 1990, Markham-Stouffville Hospital provides various patient services including Emergency and Ambulatory, Long-Term Care, Maternal/Child, Medical, Mental Health, Surgical and Postoperative Programs.

Currently Markham-Stouffville Hospital offers acute care and continuing care services with 251 beds open. The hospital has 1500 staff and 275 associated Physicians.
