ActivitiesPAPER PLEASURES
Discuss popular Victorian paper crafts. Hands-on portion may include paper piercing, quillwork, paper butterflies, or scherenschnitte (German paper cutting)
A STITCH IN TIME
Discuss the importance of quilt making. Make your own quilt square
(Best for Grades 5 and up).
SPINNING AND WEAVING
Discuss pioneer clothes production. Learn to card and spin wool. Weave a small mat on a cardboard loom to take home.
19th CENTURY SCHOOLROOM
Learn about what classes were like a in a one-room schoolhouse. Practice penmanship and oral reading.

A NINETEENTH CENTURY CHRISTMAS
Runs NOVEMBER 17 to DECEMBER 19
Compare the traditions of 19th century Christmases for early settlers and Victorians
Prepare holiday treats in the Victorian farmhouse kitchen (single class bookings only)
Create special Christmas crafts to take home in the farmhouse kitchen

WINTER PROGRAM
Runs JANUARY to APRIL only
Visit our log cabin and Victorian farmhouse
Discuss winter responsibilities, dangers, and social activities
Prepare seasonal foods like homemade soup
