Located just north of the Highway 7/ 404 interchange, the airport is conveniently located to serve York Region and Toronto. Buttonville has become a major port of entry for international air traffic from the United States. It is a general aviation facility located to act as a satellite or reliever airport to Lester B. Pearson International Airport at Malton. In terms of servicing, private and commercial aircraft can operate on runways at Buttonville that are just under 4500 feet.
